When January rolls around, it’s time for us to reflect on our gift shop line. Two items that stood out in 2024 were how much kids love a trophy and bears they can squeeze! Next up is reaching out to our vendors as we start ordering gifts for 2025. Now that it’s February we have attended one buying show with two more to go! Believe it or not we generally have our 2025 Gift Line ordered and set by the end of April. This doesn’t mean it’s set in stone, if we come across something later in the year that we believe the kids would love we often add to our inventory. We take great pride in making sure we have great gifts in every price point. (our gifts range from 50¢ to $11.75)

Don’t forget we are the only school gift shop supplier that lets you visit us at Open Houses and see the gifts in person. This allows you to see the value you get with our gifts. Not only do we allow you to see the items in person, we also have what we refer to as Bargain Buys – these are items that we love, but we might not have been able to get enough to run in all the school shops. Instead of picking and choosing who gets the gifts we let you buy the gifts at a great price to help supplement your gift shop. Of course, you don’t have to supplement, as we have a great range of gifts year after year. However, this allows you to have even more variety at your shop or use the items in your school store, teacher prizes, or wherever you see fit, the possibilities really are endless. Please note we are still working on confirming our 2025 Open House Schedule.

Did you know? We have a team of Santa Drivers who deliver all our gift shops. This eliminates shipping costs allowing us to provide high quality gifts. We don’t have to only purchase gifts that are light and cost less to mail, we can get quality gifts we would love to receive. Even after we select an item we often get samples from vendors so we can see and touch the item at our office to determine quality, see how it handles after several people look and touch and scope out the packaging.

One big difference between our school gift shop services and other companies is we offer local team gifts. We carry Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, Pistons, University of Michigan and Michigan State gifts in several different price points. We are proud of our Detroit Lions and are excited for the next season and all the opportunities that Lions have in front of them, we are actively stocking our gift shop with many new and wonderful Detroit Lions gifts!

Weather can be unpredictable. Being in Michigan helps us navigate mother nature’s curve balls. How, you ask? If winter is on the weather menu, we can bring a reorder to your house (or meet the custodian at the backdoor with the secret handshake). This way when school reopens you are ready with a fully stocked gift shop. We are also in the same time zone as you so when you call, you’ll reach a human not an answering service. Double Bonus, you won’t have to wait until lunchtime for us to open for the day.

We also ensure we have gifts that showcase our major league teams, Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings oh my! Not to mention having both Michigan and Michigan State gift choices. For our Indiana friends, don’t worry we buy gifts for your major league teams too! Colts, Pacers, Purdue, Notre Dame and Indiana University. Hear requests during the shop of what the kids (or parents) were hoping to see, let us know! We happily take suggestions and try to fulfill them when we attend buying shows. We attend buying shows right after the holiday break and have most of our gift line firmed up by March!

Event planning made fun and safe!

We believe in Fun, it’s even in our name, but we also strongly believe in safety. Which is why, we have rules in place about wet inflatables and length requirements for extension cords. The reason we limit extension cord length is to avoid fire and melted plugs which can lead to damaged equipment. If you plug numerous extension cords together or use one longer than 50 feet the chances of overloading the cord increases. A fire during your event is not the kind of excitement you are aiming for! As such, distance from power supplies should be factored in when planning events at your school, church, or company.
Safety is also a factor when we require either the company’s grounds crew or miss dig to mark the ground for underground hazards when we stake our inflatables. No one wants us (or anyone) to accidentally stake through a network cable or a sprinkler line, and definitely not a sewer pipe! That would be one way to get your event discussed around the water cooler, but not the kind of chatter we want your event to have. We want your guests to discuss how fun it was, how Sally beat Bill at their Dart Game competition and how all the children had to much Cotton Candy, but it was totally worth it because of the smiles.
We have been planning and executing events for over 50 years. This means when you choose us for your company picnic, school carnival, church events, we will be able to help guide you with layout options for your gathering. We can do a site inspection and provide layout maps if necessary. We have some inflatables that can only be stacked due to their size, which means grass can be a requirement. You might have a fantastic parking lot with plenty of space, but sometimes our equipment can’t be used on it due to safety concerns. We use LONG stakes to properly secure our inflatables so that they can’t get picked up should the wind get a bit gusty. No one wants a balloon ride when they were just trying to climb the Rockwall!
The one factor we can’t control is mother nature. Unfortunately, our inflatable attractions are not suitable for rain. A slippery bounce house is just a disaster waiting to happen – because vinyl gets slippery fast! Therefore, when rain happens, we need to deflate and cover the inflatables and then resume play once the weather moves along. Often times we can develop a rain plan. A large gym, barn or lobby can hold some of our smaller inflatables easily and allow for fun.
Wind is the second factor mother nature often brings. A nice gentle breeze is welcome at events, who doesn’t enjoy a nice breeze to help keep everyone cool, but a strong wind can create hazards and temporarily stop the inflatable fun. If you are using us for an event where our staff remains on site, be assured our supervisors have many years of experience watching weather and adjusting the plans when necessary.
